The Complete Cottage is located in the small village of Windeyer, roughly 30 minutes outside Mudgee town. The charming village includes The Gold and Fleece Hotel with great warm locals and wonderful food and beer. Then there is Bushlands Tourist Park with the local shop. We also have a local fire station and the Community Hall. The village was built during the gold boom of the 1800s and is sustained by the high quality Merino wool industry.
The property sits on 12 acres and has creek frontage, it is also surrounded by 300 acres of crown land which is yours to explore. On this 300 acres you will find creeks, a large man-made damn built by the miners. Plus numerous gold mines and lots of evidence and history of the mining that took place here. There is also no shortage of wildlife from the Kangaroos and Wallabies, the wonderful bird life. We see wild mountain goats, wombats, all sorts of lizards and even deer.
The cottage itself has 4 bedrooms and sleeps 12 people comfortably. We have a lovely open fireplace for those cold winter evenings and the house is mostly brick and stone which makes it quite cool in the summer. The sun comes up through the living room side of the house and you will see the dawn light shine through the unique bottled wall each morning.
On the grounds there is plenty to do. We have hammocks in the garden for you to relax. An undercover bar for you to entertain with its own separate fireplace. There is also the sandstone “bonfire pit” and the half barrell pit by the bar for a larger crowd if needed. There are multiple charcoal and gas BBQs for you to use during your stay and a new smoker. For the bigger kids and adult entertainment we have axe throwing, archery and other outdoor games and for the smaller kids we have a large trampoline plus swing set and various games.
There is a gym onsite for your use which has lots of equipment for you to look at while having a wine or even have a go and build up a thirst!! All details on the gym are in the fitness page of the website so go check that out if you are keen.
